What’s your favorite thing about a wedding?
Celebrating the happy couple in love... and the dancing.

How long have you known the bride?
I have known Erina for almost 11 years.
How did you meet the bride?
I met her because I began dating her brother, Ryan.
What’s your favorite thing about a wedding?
There are many things I love about weddings. I'm traditional in that I don't think people should take pictures before. So, I love looking at a groom when he sees his bride walking down the aisle. I also love it when the groom cries. So sweet! Ryan did and it was so touching.
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
If I could go anywhere, I would go to Italy! I've been there twice and love it so much. I love the food, wine, and people. I'm sure it would be different than a vacation, but I would love to live there someday.

carly

How long have you known the bride?
Practically her whole life.
How did you meet the bride?
Our moms are best friends and I remember the day my mom telling me Erina had arrived.
What’s your favorite thing about a wedding?
I love the planning and preparation of weddings, the ideas that couples put into their day to make it unique. The day of, I like the excitement and festive feeling that everyone has. However, my FAVORITE part is probably the dancing!!! I love watching everyone have fun and celebrate. Once at wedding I was called a spark plug because of my dancing, so get ready to see this white girl bust a move!
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
If I could go anywhere in the world it would be to Peru. I want to walk the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. It seems mysterious, sacred and completely beautiful.

How did you meet the bride?
Bow introduced me to Erina on one of my trips to California to visit our dad. We went out to Dave & Buster's and had a great meal and played arcade games together!
What’s your favorite thing about a wedding?
My favorite thing about a wedding is getting to see two families come together and celebrate the love of a special couple all in one place!
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
If I could travel anywhere in the world, I would want to travel to Italy to see the great historical buildings of Rome and to have authentic gelato!

bonnie

How long have you known the bride?
I have known Erina for over 13 years.
How did you meet the bride?
I met Erina when we were both freshmen in high school! We became best friends through our years as cheerleaders and members of the ASB. We have remained close ever since.
What’s your favorite thing about a wedding?
I absolutely LOVE a good party—where guests are laughing, dancing, and thoroughly enjoying one another’s company. A wedding is the perfect party because it has all of these components and, on top of that, is celebrating a great love story!
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
If I could go anywhere in the world, I would travel to Paris! I had the opportunity to go to the South of France, but not to Paris. Seeing the Eiffel Tower is on my bucket list and I would love to check that one off!

lacey

How long have you known the bride?
I think we have known each other 5 years.
How did you meet the bride?
We met in the Graphic Design program at SDSU and had a lot of the same classes. We sat together, worked together, and played together :)
What’s your favorite thing about a wedding?
My favorite thing about a wedding is celebrating the bride and groom's love, happiness, and devotion to each other with friends and family.
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
If I could go anywhere in the world I would want to go to Africa and see Egypt as well as the traditional safari things. I also would want to work with small villages and help the people and animals in anyway possible. I would want to do these things because I am passionate about nature and it would be a completely different culture than I have ever experienced, which fascinates me.

What is your position on the role of government in supporting innovation in the field of biotechnology?
Recent research has shown that empirical evidence for globalization of corporate innovation is very limited and as a corollary the market for technologies is shrinking. As a world leader, it's important for America to provide systematic research grants for our scientists. I believe strongly there will always be a need for us to have a well-articulated innovation policy with emphasis on human resource development. Thank you.

Location
MAUI

As you may know, Bow and Erina love to travel! One of their favorite places to visit in the World is Maui. Known as the “Valley Isle,” Maui is dotted with quaint towns, artist communities, and of course beautiful beaches. Each area of the island has something different to offer. Some of their favorite areas include Paia, Lahaina, and Makena. Whether you are sipping a Mai Tai at sunset or driving the winding road to Hana, the bride and groom hope you find Maui as charming and relaxing as they do!

Bow and Erina's wedding will be held at The Sugarman Estate "Honua Kai Lani" located in South Makena, Hawaii on the island of Maui. Sitting along side Ahihi Bay, the expansive property is located on more than three acres of ocean front property featuring lush landscaping. The panoramic views from the venue feature the offshore islands of Molokini and Kaho’olawe.

All guests are asked to arrive to the Sugarman Estate by group transportation. Details regarding pickup points and times will be given closer to wedding date. (Tentative pick-up points: Andaz Maui and Makena Beach Hotel)

AFTERPARTY

Bow and Erina would love for you to join them at their wedding after party. The after party will take place at the Andaz Maui. Shuttles will be provided from the Sugarman Estate to the Andaz. Join them for dancing, drinks, and late night sweets and treats!

Things to do

We have gone out with Ultimate Whale Watch twice. We love taking the small zodiac boats and getting up close and personal with the whales! Such an unique experience that only occurs during the winter months in Maui. We highly recommend you check it out!

Located in upcountry Maui and nestled along the skirt of Haleakala Crater lies the beautiful gardens of Ali`i Kula Lavender. We traveled here and found one of the best views on the island. It is truly a beautiful place! The fog starts to set in around 3pm do to its high elevation, so be sure to visit before then!

$3/per person
Put your rental car to good use and take one of the best scenic drives on the island. This drive will take the entire day, so get up early and pack a lunch, or grab one in Paia. Tropical waterfalls, falling trees, and a black sand beaches await you!

Places to eat

The Hali’imaile General Store has some of the best food and drink on the island! Located on the outskirts of Makawow, this restaurant boasts the best Mai Tai on the island (according to the Bride). Bow loves the Cubawaiian Sandwich and Erina loves the Fish Tacos.
Located between Makena and Wailea, Gannon's has a something for everyone. Happy Hour is great and so is lunch. Sit outside for beautiful panoramic views! The Crab Fonduta is a great appetizer!
This place is very casual. Expect a wait, but it's worth it! The pizza here is excellent, and so is the salad!
Located on the Kapalua Bay golf course, the Pineapple Upside-Down Cake here is our favorite on the island.

The Makena Beach & Golf Resort is a great value and the closest hotel to the wedding site. The rooms are large and simple. Every room has a balcony and the oceanfront rooms are breathtaking should you select one! A sizable breakfast buffet is included in your rate should you select this option. The nice thing about this resort is that valet and WiFi are included at no extra charge. It should be noted that the pool is simple and there isn't much of a jacuzzi. To compensate, they have a beautiful semi-private bay that is beautiful. Grab a covered beach chair for a reasonable rate and relax!
